Recognizing the rights of nature questions our unlimited right to exploit the Earth and helps us seek a balance between the rights of people, corporations and nature. It invites our legal systems to probe: what do we really need as human beings to thrive?<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The acknowledgment of nature as a subject of rights could go along with the legal recognition of severe environmental destruction as a crime, as well as ensuring the custody of sacred sites by indigenous people.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Politics of Being : An agenda for action series<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Politics of Being is a deep but not ethereal vision. It offers concrete actionable policy recommendations in many sectors, almost exclusively based on existing examples. We can start implementing it today if we choose.<\/p>\n<p>In this series, we will share every week some inspiration and thoughts about what implementing the Politics of Being would entail in nine different sectors.
